I work in a security service company that is mainly focused on installing different types of surveillance and alarm systems in normal houses or apartments. My customers nowadays are always surprised how small and how easy to use the systems are. Well those things are not cheap of course but if you have something that needs security at your own house you could probably afford it. I remember the time when a big and complicated security system had to be installed in a separate server room but now all you need is one small space on the wall. Everything you need will fit into one or two wall mounted cabinets and that is all. That way everything is kept in one place and in order. You can easily put those wall mounted cabinets on the walls of your basement or if you prefer to have better control of everything we can install them in your bedroom. Few wires and everything is completed. The size of the whole system depends of course on the number and type of the devices you are interested in. For more complicated surveillance systems that include cameras and not only an alarm system you will probably need some more space on wall and few more wall mounted cabinets but it is still nothing comparing to the space it would take a few years ago. It is always worth to secure yourself and your family.
